Open Question: How to install Ubuntu/ Debian/ fedora?

I have XP installed on my pc, 1.6 ghz, 1GB ram, 80 GB harddrive, first time I going to use linux, which one you suggest Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian or any other distribution ? can I install it without unistalling xp ?
